I completely agree to having an E.U constitution, particularly with the rights it would have afforded British Citizens, rights like freedom of movement, freedom against torture, freedom of press...etc. But those are i guess too good for the British people as Blair has opted out of them.
Blair PROMISED referendum on any E.U constitution. He's managed to wheedle his slimy way out of this by refusing to sign unless they changed the name of the current agreement from constitution - although Bertie Ahern in Ireland admitted that it was 90% of the EU constitution.
Don't you think his timing is great as well? Blair has spun the press good this time, timing his handover of government (the BIGGEST news story in YEARS) at the same time as signing the E.U treaties. Wow, clever the press will be too busy celebrating his leaving and talking about the Iraq legacy to really tear him to shreds on yet ANOTHER SWINDLE.
So like Top-up-free, nuclear war-heads,his promises pre-government to stop selling weapons to frankly dangerous regimes that used them immorally, and his "sociaist ideals" which went out of the window with PFI and of course that little lie in the form of the IRAQ WAR he has once again lied swindled and stabbed the British people.
What a nasty careerist piece of work. I'm very glad he's gone.
Before you get too comfortable remember that Brown voted for Iraq and cut taxes for the rich massively, with dire consequence in form of massive inflated house prices. £23 billion are owed in corporate tax (the amount that hasn't managed to slip through the MANY MANY loopholes created by this government) why hasn't Brown bothered to get on top of it? It'd help to pay for the totally illegal, unnecessary and imperialist occupation of Iraq. on the upside Brown isn't quite as far up Bush's arse...
